After twelve months “Rights, Camera, Action! Participation and Democracy in Europe” is closed. From May 2013 to April 2014 Cagliari has been the setting for the international project and has hosted numerous activities that have involved hundreds of young people from six European countries: Estonia, Italy, Greece, Portugal, Croatia and Slovenia.
Side by side and supported by a team of experts, the participants of the project organized several workshops within the given timeframes, in which they explored the issue of participation of young people in Europe as a key prerequisite of democracy.
The result of the work of hundreds of youngsters all over Europe was a documentary filmed in Cagliari in February, the purpose of which is to raise awareness among young people on the theme of active citizenship.
The final meeting, held 8th – 10th April in the capital of Sardinia, presented the documentary film to the representatives of partner organizations and young Sardinians, gathered for the occasion at the Cine- Teatro Nanni Loy. It was also further an opportunity to exchange and share opinions, during which all the partners of the project compared and discussed the activities that took place at the local level in each country in view of the closure of the project.
Associazione Studenti per la Città, as promoter and coordinator of the project, would like to thank all the young people and partner organizations whom have participated in the many activities!
